THE NORDIC MICE SUMMIT- CHANGED DATES





With more than 18 years of experience in the MICE business, incoming and outgoing Lonni Gulliksen certainly knows a lot about the MICE industry. She has also taken part in many different forums and industry shows all around the world.


Back in 2018, an opportunity has been spotted by herself and her team.


They were intrigued to see that nobody has created a trade show/forum specifically dedicated and targeted at The Nordic MICE Markets: Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland and the Fare Islands. They would have liked to participate in such a show, but there was none available.


So Lonni did what any good entrepreneur would have done: she discovered a problem and delivered a solution.


"Even though the Nordic destinations and our businesses, are in many ways the frontrunners in the MICE industry when it comes to meeting planning, we had no forum dedicated to our region. I found it peculiar, especially given our region's leadership in sustainability in the events industry, with the incorporation of green and innovative solutions for all types of events. From smaller meetings to medium size incentives and large congresses, there is a lot to learn from our region when it comes to sustainability. We decided to create our own Summit that would incorporate all of that. "






The first Nordic MICE Summit was held in 2018 in Malmö, Sweden, and it proved to be very successful.


2019 saw a second edition of the Summit, and we have been anticipating the 3rd one.


Unfortunately due to COVID-19 and the effects on travel and events industry, Lonni and her team had to ADJUST on the go. Safety and security of their clients ( both suppliers and buyers) was a priority and they decided to push their Nordic MICE Summit to March 2021.


This was a quick and sharp decision made by the team, that was both important and necessary.


The Nordic MICE Summit has been moved to a new date- March 4th-6th 2021.

While it is certainly an inconvenience, on the positive note it also allowed the team to reconnect with their clients and slightly readjust their design concept.


"The concept of better matchmaking, according to the preferences form Buyers and Suppliers, is something we strongly believe in. At the end of the day, everything is about personal connections, and we are looking at smaller events, approx 100 participants as the perfect size, for the purpose of the perfect networking.


Furthermore, The Nordic MICE Summit will move around in the Nordic countries, giving participants a chance to explore new locations and for suppliers, to promote their destinations and facilities."


The Nordic MICE Summit is open for registration for mainly European hotels, hotel chains, special venues, CVB’s as well as DMC’s and the team is happy to inform that they already have quite a few European countries participating such as Denmark, Germany, Spain, Italy and Switzerland.
